Katinka Hosszu has closed the gap on overall leader Sarah Sjöström after claiming another four gold medals in the 2018 FINA Swimming World Cup.
Hungarian swimmer Hosszu won the 100m, 200m and 400m individual medleys as well as the 200m butterfly in the fifth leg of the series in Beijing over the weekend.
She is now just 15 points behind Sjöström, who won both the 50m and 100m butterfly but missed out to Holland’s Ranomi Kromowidjojo in the 50m and 100m freestyle.
Yuliya Efimova keeps hold of third place in the women’s series after she won a pair of golds in the 100m and 200m breaststroke finals.
Efimova’s fellow Russian Vladimir Morozov is running away with the lead in the men’s overall standings after he matched Hosszu with four gold medals.
Morozov is now 104 points clear of nearest challenger Kirill Prigoda after winning the 50m and 100m freestyle along with the 50m butterfly and 100m IM.
Fellow Russian Prigoda completed a clean sweep of the breaststroke events.
The Beijing Water Cube hosted the first of three legs which make up the final 25m cluster of meetings in the 2018 FINA Swimming World Cup calendar.
Leg six takes place in Tokyo this weekend from November 9-11, before the series concludes in Singapore on November 15-17.
