Gold and silver medals were shared in the women’s 200m individual medley age group finals during day three of the Swim England National Summer Meet in Sheffield.

In the 15 Yrs final, Rose Compton and Jennifer Green could not be separated after both touched the wall in a dead heat 2:24.04.

Wigan BEST swimmer Green cranked up the pressure in the second half of the race. After 100m, she had been trailing RTW Monson’s Compton by more than three seconds.

After a thrilling final push, the pair shared the gold medal, with Portsmouth’s Kate Baxter taking bronze.

There was another dead heat in the 14 Yrs final, this time for the runners-up position. Birmingham’s Millie Checkley won the gold in 2:26.34, but Bishop Stortford’s Millie Fields and Central Beds Swim Squad’s Imogen Lambert shared the silver after posting identical times of 2:27.17.
