Laura Stephens swam another personal best to win her second gold medal of the 2018 British Summer Championships during day three in Sheffield.

The Plymouth Leander swimmer clocked a PB of 2:10.37 to win the women’s open 200m butterfly and collect her fourth medal of the championships.

On the first day, Stephens claimed another huge PB to win gold in the 400m IM, and she followed that up with bronze medals in the 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly.

Her fellow European Junior Championship team mate Keanna Macinnes landed her first gold of the week in the 17/18 Yrs age group, with a time of 2:10.49.

Bournemouth’s Alice Tai was another swimmer to double up on gold medals on day three at Ponds Forge. Tai’s time of 1:03.97 in the women’s MC 100m freestyle earned her a winning points total of 1048, and she was knocking on the door of world record pace. A day earlier, she had won gold in the 100m backstroke.

In the men’s race, Commonwealth Games silver medallist Lewis White won with a time of 57.26 and a points total of 847.

There was another huge PB in the men’s 1500m freestyle, with Millfield’s Kieran Bird shaving almost eight seconds off his previous best to win the 19/Over final in 15:38.52.
