Known as the Iron Lady, Hungary’s Katinka Hosszú is one of the world’s most versatile swimmers. While she specialises in the individual medley, Hosszú has also won major international medals in backstroke, butterfly and freestyle.
Hosszú won three gold medals at the 2016 Olympic Games in the 200m and 400m IM as well as the 100m backstroke. Incredibly, they were her first Olympic medals despite being a veteran of four Olympic Games.
She is a seven-time world champion and a 14-time European champion in the 50m pool, and has a further 13 world and 16 European golds in the short course format.
Hosszú was the first swimmer to hold world records in all five individual medley events at the same time.
